Jillian Harris – Bathrooms

  • The existing footprint of the old bathroom was the inspiration here. The house, reportedly, served as the sleeping quarters to city workers about 80 years ago; a fairly basic house for the time but quite lovely with traditional features, such as high ceilings, and casing details around windows and doors.
  • The redesign gave the homeowners a beautiful and spacious shower, a double vanity with storage and topped everything off with a heritage-inspired marble mosaic floor tile.
  • Incorporation of a stunning modern take on a claw-foot tub was absolutely decadent. The design-dictated component is the claw-foot aspect of the tub, the traditional look of it. This adds character to an otherwise fairly contemporary bathroom. The tub is also very functional, as it is the only bathtub in the house – very important for relaxing those muscles.
  • Some color was added with flowers and décor. Décor is a good way of adding texture, layers and color without committing to anything too permanent.
